The deliverable will be a “Get Started” guide, with tools and credentials you need to access the lab. Make sure you have the following items ready.
- Purchased a valid Cisco VIRL license
- Have downloaded the latest copy of VIRL image from Cisco.com
- Access to your VMware ESXi hypervisor using vSphere client
- Desktop sharing if installing on VMware Workstation and Fusion Pro
- Access to an IP-KVM if installing on bare-metal machine
- Access to your Packet.net account if installing on the cloud
- Sufficient Internet bandwidth to download patches and updates

The VIRL consulting service addresses any questions and issues one may have while installing and using VIRL on in-house servers, workstations, bare-metal machines, and on the cloud Packet.net. The service helps you hand-on-hand and get your lab up and running in optimal state. The client pays a retainer and an hourly rate. The service covers VIRL running on the following platforms:
