It helps network engineers test configuration and new features before rolling out to production, as well as Cisco certification exam takers to learn and pass their exams.

Installation Services

Our VIRL Installation service gives you a simple, quick and secure way of getting your VIRL lab setup and start building network topologies without hassle. With our installation service, we will deploy, configure, update and optimize the lab in your specific environment. The deliverable will be a “Get Started” guide, with tools and credentials you need to access the lab. Make sure you have the following items ready.

  • Purchased a valid Cisco VIRL license
  • Have downloaded the latest copy of VIRL image from Cisco.com
  • Access to your VMware ESXi hypervisor using vSphere client
  • Desktop sharing if installing on VMware Workstation and Fusion Pro
  • Access to an IP-KVM if installing on bare-metal machine
  • Access to your Packet.net account if installing on the cloud
  • Sufficient Internet bandwidth to download patches and updates

The VIRL consulting service addresses any questions and issues one may have while installing and using VIRL on in-house servers, workstations, bare-metal machines, and on the cloud Packet.net. The service helps you hand-on-hand and get your lab up and running in optimal state. The client pays a retainer and an hourly rate. The service covers VIRL running on the following platforms:

  • VMware vSphere ESXi
  • VMware Workstation Pro and VMware Player on Windows
  • VMware Fusion Pro on Mac OS X
  • Bare-metal installation
  • Packet.net installation on Cloud
